Five days!
Five days of this madness.
Dead people don’t come back to life, do they?
Yet these so called friends of mine insist
On stretching this prank
Beyond all acceptable social limits.
Five days now!
They are using his unbelievable words
To wrench at my soul,
To pull at my heart strings.
Sure he said he would rise on the third day.
But that was just to steady our nerves,
To enable us to get through
The dark night of his torture
And the hell of his death.
Anyone in his right mind
Could have seen that
People don’t rise from the dead
Or do they?
